Behind the Scenes in Venice: Navigating the Extraordinary During Bezos’s Wedding
In recent days, we’ve often been asked the same question: “What was it like working in Venice during such a significant event?” Amid complex preparations, tense moments, and logistical challenges, there’s only one answer: an intense, demanding, yet extraordinarily rewarding experience.
While Venice faced strikes and unforeseen obstacles, the team from Once Extraordinary Events, together with colleagues from Lux Wedding & Event Studio and Brilliant Communication, was at the heart of a three day major event held in the desirable setting of the Arsenale. Just steps away, preparations were underway for another exclusive and private wedding: that of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez. Although many details remain confidential, we can affirm that organizing and managing events of this scale requires professionalism, precision, and meticulous care through every stage.
On this occasion, we were fortunate to collaborate with Bezos’s supplier teams—many of them local—all involved in preparing the event at the Arsenale. During challenging moments, these professionals demonstrated extraordinary availability and a spirit of collaboration, without competition but characterized by genuine Italian spirit.
Contrary to expectations, Venice maintained its charm and its ability to host grand occasions. Despite the high season, logistical difficulties, and a national transport strike, the city adapted with elegance, as if the energy of these great events illuminated every corner, making the atmosphere even more enchanting.
Private weddings, when carefully managed, represent a valuable resource for the territory: they bring employment, international visibility (not that Venice needs it, we all agree), and enrich the local cultural fabric without compromising its identity.
Working in Venice, with or without big names nearby, remains a fascinating and engaging challenge. Every event tells a unique story, made of dedication, art, and passion, in a city that continues to enchant those who experience it up close.
