Once Extraordinary Events successfully curated the acclaimed exhibition featuring internationally renowned German visual artist and satirist Dieter Nuhr at Florence’s prestigious Palazzo Medici Riccardi. Nuhr, who studied painting at the University of Essen from 1981-1987, has achieved remarkable success both as Germany’s leading satirist and as an acclaimed visual artist. His recent exhibitions at major institutions including the Osthaus Museum, Venice Biennale, and MAXXI Rome have established him as a significant contemporary voice in environmental art.
Exhibition Overview
“Elsewhere is Everywhere” combines environmental consciousness with aesthetic excellence. Held at Galleria delle Carrozze from April 29 through June 2, 2025, the exhibition featured over thirty works exploring global interconnectedness through an environmental lens, positioning art as a catalyst for sustainability awareness.
Curatorial Excellence and Institutional Collaboration
The project encompassed coordination between multiple prestigious entities, including UNESCO, the Brost Foundation, and the Florence Metropolitan City. The exhibition’s official inauguration on May 13 brought together distinguished figures including Brost Foundation President Bodo Hombach and Carlo Francini, Director of Florentine Civic Museums and Florence World Heritage Site Manager.
The curatorial selection featured Nuhr’s significant recent works, including large-format paintings executed through his synthesis of digital innovation and traditional acrylic techniques, alongside iPad-created portrait studies. Notable works included contemporary reinterpretations of Donatello’s David and Fra Filippo Lippi’s Adoration of the Child.
Professional Achievement and Cultural Legacy
This exhibition followed Nuhr’s highly successful presentations at Venice’s Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana during the 59th Art Biennale (2022) and Rome’s MAXXI Museum (2023), establishing Florence as the next destination in his acclaimed Italian exhibition series. Our successful orchestration of this cultural event contributed to the artist’s growing international recognition and reinforced Florence’s position as a premier destination for contemporary artistic discourse. Through careful attention to logistical excellence, media coordination, and stakeholder engagement, Once Extraordinary Events delivered a culturally significant exhibition that attracted substantial public engagement.
Once Extraordinary Events served as Press Coordinator and Project Manager for “Elsewhere is Everywhere” in collaboration with the Association for Art in Public, The Brost Foundation, The Florence Metropolitan City, and artist Dieter Nuhr.
