When Tenuta Sette Ponti entrusted us with the organization of the celebrations for the 25th harvest of Oreno, we knew we were facing an extraordinary challenge. Within one of the estate’s most iconic landmarks, we were tasked with creating an event capable of honoring a quarter-century of history, dedication, and passion.
The chosen venue, Ponte Buriano, could not have been more meaningful. Selected by the client, Ponte Buriano is one of the seven bridges from which Tenuta Sette Ponti takes its name. The estate is named after the ancient Romanesque road that once connected Arezzo and Florence, crossing the Arno River seven times by means of seven bridges. Built in 1277 by order of the Free Commune of Arezzo, Ponte Buriano was historically the only link between the two cities. More than an impressive feat of medieval engineering, its silhouette famously captured the imagination of Leonardo da Vinci and is widely believed to have inspired the landscape depicted in the background of the Mona Lisa.
The Project Challenge
Working within a historic outdoor setting subject to strict preservation requirements demanded an approach that was both rigorous and creative. Our task was to craft an experience worthy of such an important anniversary while fully respecting the integrity and beauty of a monument that has stood for more than seven centuries. Every element, from temporary structures to technical installations, was designed to harmonize with the site and preserve its character.
Attention to Detail
Every aspect of the evening was conceived with the intention of celebrating history. The lighting design was carefully developed to enhance the bridge’s architecture without overpowering it, preserving at night the same sense of wonder that has accompanied those who have admired it for centuries. Created in harmony with the surrounding landscape, the materials, colors, and forms were selected to blend seamlessly into the natural setting of the Valdarno.
The emotional journey of the evening was crafted with exceptional care to convey the deeper significance of this milestone. The celebration honored not only a wine but also the people who have shaped its story over the past twenty-five years. It paid tribute to those who tend the vineyards, those who guide the winemaking process in the cellar, those who have introduced Oreno to the world, and ultimately those who continue to choose it every time they pour a glass.
The Result
Witnessing guests experience genuine emotion within this remarkable piece of living history, during such an important moment for Tenuta Sette Ponti, was the most rewarding confirmation of success. The event went far beyond commemorating an anniversary. Through every detail, it conveyed the value of creating something that endures through time while remaining true to itself, just like Ponte Buriano.
